The industry forum is called Global Voice Evacuation Professionals |
ASL have launched an industry forum; Global Voice Evacuation Professionals as a vendor independent group to discuss all aspects of voice alarm, mass notification, voice evacuation and other so called VACIE systems.
Group membership has now reached over 140 with healthy discussion on a number of topics including the implementation of EN54-16, the rise of the AVB 802.1B Audio/Video Bridging standard and a number of industry specific training events being held.
Sousan Azimrayat, Founding Director of ASL said "Having looked at the worldwide ecosystem for the voice alarm market; it became apparent that there is a pronounced lack of discussion, and cooperation between key stakeholders. The aim of the group is to increase understanding and act as a weather-vane for policy and international standards. We are going through an important shift in technologies as the industry moves from analogue to IP based systems and struggles to comprehend an increasingly complex set of networking standards and their associated implementation requirements."
The group is aimed at manufacturers, specifiers, end-users, and those who implement voice alarm systems.
