Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, recently announced a series of appointments and promotions to the company’s global sales team. Following the retirement of Read Wineland, Michael Frank moves into the role of Eastern North America sales development director; Mark Wentz moves into the position of regional manager for the South Central territory; Ashley Smith joins Biamp as the area manager for South Texas; and Jay Paul becomes the company’s new Mid-Atlantic regional manager.

New appointments and promotions

With Wineland’s retirement, Biamp has promoted Michael Frank to sales development director from his previous role as Mid-Atlantic regional manager. Frank’s leadership and strategic skills made the Mid-Atlantic region Biamp’s largest market in the world. In his new position, Frank will be responsible for expanding the company’s sales growth in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Great Lakes regions.

As the company’s new regional manager for the U.S. South Central territory, Mark Wentz will oversee Biamp’s sales and partnerships across the region. Previously Biamp’s South Texas area manager, Wentz has over 15 years of regional account and sales management experience in the professional AV industry, and is an expert in the development, design, and configuration of systems.

Reporting to Wentz, Ashley Smith joins Biamp where he will promote and foster relationships within the South Texas region. In his prior role, Smith worked with a client list that included Praxair, the City of Houston, Rice University, and the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Involved with the AV industry since 1994, he has also held both management and technician roles.

Jay Paul brings his vast expertise in audio, acoustics, test and measurement to Biamp where he will continue cultivating relationships in the Mid-Atlantic region. As an experienced senior design engineer, Paul was responsible for the design, engineering, and management of numerous projects across several markets including sports, entertainment, corporate, government, and education.

“As we continue to grow our global team and expand into emerging verticals such as enterprise IT, Biamp retains our focus as an industry leader by building the best team possible and providing unmatched customer service,” shared Vice President of Global Sales, Ron Camden. “As Read transitions into retirement and members of the team move into new roles, we’re excited at the additional opportunities this presents for the industry and for Biamp.”
