Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, celebrates AV Week by increasing the awareness of the audio/visual industry in Oregon. In observance of InfoComm International's AV Week, taking place October 15-19, the Beaverton, Oregon mayor's office has made a proclamation about the impact of the AV industry. In celebration, Biamp Systems will host a tour and presentation for engineering students from University of Portland.
"We are happy to celebrate AV Week in Oregon, especially here in Beaverton, by sharing what we do with the community and local engineering students," said Steve Metzger, president of Biamp Systems. "AV systems technologies make effective communications possible in all sorts of environments, from sporting events to business presentations. AV Week provides us with a time to showcase our industry – one that we're designing and building products for right here in Oregon."
AV Week is primarily devoted to education of an industry that has grown to $78 billion worldwide. The proclamation made by the mayor of Beaverton, Denny Doyle, brings attention to the following aspects of the AV industry:
- AV equipment and services are used to protect our nation's security through command and control facilities
- Millions of students, K-12 and collegiate level, are receiving an enhanced educational experience through the use of AV technology
- The AV industry provides a richer experience to millions of sports fans, concert attendees, and travelers whether it's via air or train travel
