New products from Electro-Voice were highly popular with dealers and industry insiders

With a healthy stream of visitors and excellent feedback for brand-new products, Bosch Communications Systems made a strong impression at this year’s Prolight+Sound trade fair in Frankfurt (21-24 March). "A trade fair always represents something of an acid test for new products," says Robert Hesse, Vice President Sales Communication EMEA and Managing Director of EVI Audio GmbH. "Are we meeting the expectations of our customers? Can we offer the consumer truly attractive solutions with the new systems? After this year's Prolight+Sound, we know that we are well placed with all our newly developed products and have our finger firmly on the popular pulse."

On all four days of the show, visitors displayed a keen interest in the new Vertical Array Systems from DYNACORD – innovative system combinations that are as powerful as they are versatile. Their central component is the TS 400 vertical array cabinet, which can be operated in full-range mode or combined with the PSD 215 and 218 powered subwoofers and/or PSE 215 and 218 passive subwoofers. New systems that – whether deployed in these or other configurations – will invariably meet concert sound standards.

Also highly popular with dealers and industry insiders were the new products from Electro-Voice: the ZXA1-Sub, a powered subwoofer notable for its mobility, performance, and power that offers exciting and diverse possibilities in combination above all with the best-selling ZXA1; and the four ultra-compact newcomers (EVU-1062/95, EVU-2062/95, EVU-1082/95 and EVU-2082/95) in EV's Innovation loudspeaker series, destined for below-balcony, delay-line, and front-fill applications, among others.

Although all these newly introduced systems satisfy the most exacting professional criteria, consumers can nonetheless look forward to attractive prices: "In terms of price-performance ratio, they're unbeatable," affirms Robert Hesse. The same goes for OMNEO, the world's first open-media network architecture – presented at the Prolight+Sound by Ethan Wetzell, platform strategist at Bosch Security Systems. Based on Dante media transmission components and OCA systems control technology, OMNEO supports the transmission of both audio and video formats as well as offering the control of all devices via standard Ethernet.

A Facebook campaign by then 12 months' old, DYNACORD. DISCOVERY.DAYS (D.D.D.) provided one of the highlights of the well-attended press conference at 9.30 a.m. on the Thursday. Not only the music but also the Facebook posts of more than sixty competing bands influenced the selection of the five finalists, who enjoyed the privilege of testing a DYNACORD PA for two months. The jury, comprising DYNACORD's Social Media Team, Soundcheck magazine editors, and Reamonn guitarist Uwe Bossert (doubling as the campaign's patron), eventually awarded first prize to Revolving Door, who as D.D.D. winners were rewarded with a much-praised appearance at the trade fair, extensive coverage in Soundcheck magazine, and a complete DYNACORD PA (2 x D11A, 2 x PowerSub 212, 1 x CMS 1600-3).

"DYNACORD.DISCOVERY.DAYS proved a complete success," concluded Robert Pletz, Marketing Manager with Bosch Communications Systems. "A large number of bands took part and the standard among all participants was enormously high."
