Community R SERIES loudspeakers were chosen for reliability and vocal intelligibility |
One of the great palaces of Europe, Münchner Residenz (Munich Residence) is the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs of the House of Wittelsbach in the centre of the city of Munich, Germany. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors who come to view its architecture and gardens, interior decorations and displays from the former royal collections.
Housed in the Festsaalbau wing of the Residenz is the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), which provides a beautiful and atmospheric setting for classical concerts and is one of the primary concert venues for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. With a seating capacity of 1,450, safety is a major consideration and the venue recently installed a new voice alarm system.
With the challenge of ceiling heights of up to eight meters and a reverberation time close to five seconds, Herkulessaal specified the new system should be of the highest reliability and meet the exacting TÜV intelligibility standards so that it would be clearly heard and understood in the case of an emergency.
Controls coverage and avoids unwanted reflections
Community’s R SERIES loudspeakers were chosen for their unrivalled track record of reliability and vocal intelligibility, combined with the accurate dispersion patterns that were essential in controlling coverage and avoiding unwanted reflections.
prodyTel Distribution GmbH carried out a comprehensive simulation using R SERIES and the system was designed using four R.5HPT’s and sixteen R.35-3896’s. Measurements confirmed the system not only meets, but exceeds specification.
Jan B Otte of prodyTel said, “The Herkulessaal management is completely satisfied with the new system, which has exceeded expectations and provides the safety for visitors they were seeking.”
