ETX powered loudspeakers debut on Diesel gig
ETX Powered Loudspeakers made what might be their Australian concert debut at a recent show by Diesel at Revesby Workers Club in Sydney. An ETX-15P served as a drum fill, working at high output for the 90-minute set and delivering massive punch and definition for the kick drum. Needless to say, the drummer was very happy!
English folk legend performs with EV
Easter 2014 saw English folk legend Martin Carthy perform at the National Folk Festival in Canberra, Australia, where he delivered an inspired performance to a full house in the marquee venue on the Sunday night.
Carthy has been a staple of the English folk scene since the 1960s and achieved fame in the acclaimed folk band Steeleye Span in the seventies and eighties before once again embarking on solo projects and group projects with his family. Martin attended the National Folk Festival in Canberra as the festival’s headline act.
EV served from input to output, with equipment including an N/D967 vocal mic, Xw12 monitor wedges powered by CP3000S amps and controlled by Dx38 controllers, and a main FOH system consisting of an XLE compact line-array system, also driven by CP3000S amps.
Cantonese opera shines with EV
Club Central Hurstville, Sydney recently played host to an afternoon of traditional Cantonese Opera to an appreciative full house. The production relied heavily on EV, including EV FOH and foldback loudspeakers powered by EV amps.
The shining light of the performance was the use of RE97LTX miniature lapel microphones coupled with EV wireless beltpack systems on the main performers. In addition, the performance saw wired RE510 condenser microphones stand mounted for a number of static performances with an EV handheld transmitter being used for MC and announcements. The organisers were very happy and claimed it was one of the best-sounding performances they’ve had in Australia.
