Electro-Voice and Dynacord sound systems have made history with the debut sound-reinforcement installation in the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, which was founded in the 1920s. Formerly located in Ladang Midlands, the temple relocated to Section 7, Shah Alam, Selangor 2008.
With help from the public and the government, a program of improvements to the temple were undertaken in accordance with the development of Section 7, Shah Alam. The temple committee members determined that a new sound system producing powerful, clear sound was required in the main prayer hall to facilitate daily prayers. The top priority for the sound system was to ensure devotees could be immersed in prayers, songs, and mantras led by the temple priest.
To meet this requirement, an easy-to-maintain, user-friendly, and customisable sound system was proposed. The solution includes a Dynacord CMS 1000-3 high-quality mixer with digital 24/48-bit effects processors, a DSP 260 sound system manager, Corus 12.2 full-range cabinet, and SL 2400 amplifiers. From Electro-Voice, the system includes a CDP-850T 60-watt compound diffraction projector (a wide range, integrated horn-and-driver system featuring an 1829BT driver); a PA1250T power amplifier; RE2N2 wireless microphone system; and PL24s microphones. The system elements combine to provide seamlessly smooth sound throughout the prayer hall.
The President and committee members of the temple are extremely pleased with the newly installed sound system, commenting, “Soundline did an excellent job with our AV renovation. They went above and beyond to exceed our expectations and their staff members were extremely professional. We are happy with the result.”
