EV demo room allowed customers to hear new portable loudspeakers in action |
This year’s Winter NAMM trade show broke attendance records, with over 95,000 registered attendees from across the globe gathering in Anaheim, California to experience the latest product offerings for the musical instrument retail marketplace from over 1,400 exhibitors.
The Electro-Voice booth was once again a standout destination at the show, thanks to its 400 square-foot soundproofed demo room, dubbed the Audio Arena. Whereas most other loudspeakers on display at NAMM sit silently on shelves, the EV demo room allowed customers to hear our new portable loudspeakers in action as part of a dynamic, synchronised audio/visual presentation unlike any other at the show. Add the booth’s stylish design and relaxed vibe to the equation, and it’s no surprise that EV made the top of many pro audio professionals’ must-see short lists.
EV’s commitment to its retail partners and their customers was made very clear at the busy press conference that kicked-off day one of the show, with a central theme being the global sales success achieved by the Live X family of loudspeakers launched at the previous NAMM, and the steady stream of products planned for the retail market, including the brand-new ZXA1-Sub launched at the show -- the complementary subwoofer for the popular ZXA1 two-way powered loudspeaker.
And the press coverage didn’t stop there. Electro-Voice was presented with four ProSoundWeb Readers’ Choice Awards at the booth, along with a coveted “Best in Show” award from Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review for the new ZXA1-Sub. Not a bad way to start a year with a front-and-center focus on the retail market!
The buzz at the EV booth quickly extended itself to the internet, with video coverage from magazines and websites from all corners of the industry being quickly syndicated on social media sites around the world, with particular interest from the DJ and mobile entertainment segment. Interest in EV was also reflected in a 22% increase in leads taken at the booth over 2011.
