Located in Clarksville, Tennessee, Mary’s Music has long been a fixture as a local music retailer. In recent years the company has diversified into the installation business, under the leadership of co-owner Andy Jones. Mary’s Music has performed installations in houses of worship, outdoor athletic fields, government offices, and even a car dealership, all with one thing in common: audio products from Electro-Voice.
“We found we can help a lot of businesses and government agencies here in the area by providing design and build services for audio, video, and lighting,” says Jones. “We’ve completed a wide range of projects in the area, from basic background music to full line arrays, and Electro-Voice has been an outstanding partner in our success.”
Outstanding service across applications
In particular, the Electro-Voice EVID line of loudspeakers has provided outstanding service across a wide range of applications. Designed specifically for the contracting market, EVID speakers deliver powerful, full-range fidelity in a compact package, highlighted by surface-mount and in-ceiling designs optimised for commercial use.
For RichEllen Park, a new complex of eight baseball fields operated by Montgomery County, Jones used the EVID 6.2T model, mounted horizontally to provide maximum coverage while using only two of the 6-inch, 2-way speakers per field. Using the highest quality industrial hardware, Mary’s Music devised a custom pole-mount solution based on the supplied Electro-Voice SAM (Strong Arm Mount) system.
The New Providence Church of Christ needed sound reinforcement, but strictly in the vocal range, as the Church’s worship style is based on the spoken word and a cappella singing. “The idea was to provide both intelligibility and good fidelity without a lot of electronics and signal processing,” says Jones. “The coverage area of the EVID 6.2 was perfect for breaking the sanctuary into eight coverage areas, mounted out of the line of sight, four per side on the support beams near the walls. It gave them the balanced, musical sound they were looking for, without breaking the bank.”
EVID loudspeakers were also the choice when Jenkins & Wynne, a longtime local car dealership, engaged Mary’s Music to supply audio-video for their new facilities. For the background music system, EVID C4.2 ceiling speakers from Electro-Voice were installed in the offices and waiting area. Out in the two showrooms, Andy Jones selected the EVID 6.2T surface-mount loudspeakers for its modern look and outstanding sound.
“We like to recommend Electro-Voice speakers because that always seems to get us a happy customer,” says Andy Jones. “The EVID speakers are a good example of that. They sound great, have a nice contemporary look, and they basically never fail. And any time I have a question or need a suggestion, Electro-Voice is always ready to help.”
