ETX powered loudspeakers feature Class-D amplification and smart FIR-Drive DSP accessed via single-knob interface |
The Electro-Voice ETX Powered Loudspeaker range was launched at a special event in Singapore on June 13, 2014 at the Loof Bar – part of the Odeon Towers complex on North Bridge Road.
Attracting approximately 60 attendees comprising dealers, distributors, partners, and consultants from the regional pro audio sector, the event included a comprehensive product presentation plus demonstrations, live performances, and a lucky draw offering an EV R300 wireless microphone as a prize.
ETX Powered Loudspeakers were launched globally at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California in January, taking the flagship position in EV’s portable range. The family comprises six different models with three two-way models – a 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch, a three-way model (15-inch with 6.5-inch MF driver and a precision HF titanium compression driver) plus two subwoofers in 15-inch and 18-inch configurations. Features include Class-D amplification, Signal Synchronised Transducer (SST) waveguide designs, and smart FIR-Drive DSP accessed via a unique single-knob interface.
Both Johannes Huth, regional product marketing director, and Edward Chia, regional product marketing manager, were on hand for the Singapore launch event, hosting a presentation to outline the range’s features alongside audio demonstrations intended to highlight different configurations of the various models. Musical entertainment ranging from pop to rock to jazz was then provided by Sherman Anthoney, accompanied by saxophonist Jefferson Yap and percussionist Bryan Lim on a Cajon drum.
“We were able to showcase the speakers in a setting that highlighted what they can do, even in an outdoor environment,” commented Mr. Huth, following the event. “Our customers wanted to listen to the speakers rather than getting entertained by presentations only. The demo makes the difference. As such, the launch event was a nice experience and customers, consultants and other business partners were impressed with the sound.”
Regarding bringing ETX Powered Loudspeakers to Singapore, he added: “With its buzzing entertainment and live performance scene, Singapore is the perfect market for ETX Powered Loudspeakers. We are proud that market feedback for the range has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are excited that it has now starting shipping in Asia Pacific, including Singapore.”
