The E3 Series fire alarm provides advanced fire protection and autonomous control of in-building and between-buildings mass notification
The Govies competition recognises the most effective and cutting edge products

Gamewell-FCI by Honeywell announces its E3 Series® fire alarm and Emergency Communications System (ECS) has won Gold in the “Govies” Government Security product competition, announced during the 2012 GovSec Government Security Conference & Expo in Washington D.C. The Govies competition aims to recognise the most effective and cutting-edge products capable of protecting a multitude of diverse government facilities.

The E3 Series fire alarm and ECS from Gamewell-FCI provides advanced fire protection and autonomous control of in-building and between-buildings mass notification. This combined approach offers a cost-effective and completely supervised system for disseminating live and pre-recorded messages to all or specific areas of a building or an entire campus. The E3 Series fire alarm and ECS is a highly-survivable system designed to meet stringent requirements surrounding performance, testing, maintenance and power back-up as prescribed by the Department of Defense (DoD) and NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.

“Using a fire alarm as the backbone for a mass notification system is a proven solution that’s worked for military facilities. Now we’re seeing more and more government facilities opting for this two-in-one solution,” Gamewell-FCI VP of Sales Steve Birdsall explains. “This gold Govies award highlights the reality many government buildings are facing concerning the need to have a reliable means for communicating with occupants in and around the facility during an emergency.”

For a customised solution to fit any site, the E3 Series can easily integrate key ECS components, such as Local Operating Consoles, LED signage, specialized speakers and strobes, giant outside voice systems and interactive graphic monitoring displays (both stationary and mobile).

The networking of all components, including control panels and devices, requires only one pair of unshielded, twisted wire or fiber optic cable. If renovating, the E3 Series can many times utilize existing wire and detection devices from the previous fire alarm. The system’s scalable design enables it to be tailored to fit the specific life safety needs of any facility while allowing for future expansion or reconfigurations.
