Gent by Honeywell, has equipped the prestigious Bulgari Hotel and Residences in London’s Knightsbridge with one of its successful Vigilon fire detection and alarm (FDA) solutions.
The high profile property, which is the first luxury hotel to be built in the capital for forty years, has been installed with a fully integrated system that includes a four loop Vigilon panel and Gent’s innovative S-Quad sensing technology, together with a full front end WINMAG Graphics Management System.
One of Gent 24’s network of approved System Integrators, Tecserv UK, was involved in the two year project, from conception to completion, and worked directly with the hotel’s property developers, Prime Development.
Nottinghamshire based Tecserv provides fire and security solutions for a range of commercial, industrial and prestigious buildings across the UK, and selected the Gent system to meet the high requirements of the leading hotel group.
Mark Smith, operations manager, Tecserv UK, says: “The initial brief was to provide a graphics front end fire alarm system with voice sounders in each of the bedrooms, and because of the unique style and design it was important to choose a solution that was aesthetically pleasing. We selected the Gent S-Quad range as the multi-functional heads have up to four different functions in one product - sensors, sounder, strobe and speech – which means less cabling is required than with separate devices.”
“The installation was completed in April and the feedback received has been extremely positive.” concludes Mark.
The luxury Bulgari Hotel, which opened its doors to guests in May this year, is located on the site of the old Knightsbridge Palace Hotel in South West London. The building composes of 85 spacious, elegant rooms, luxurious suites and exclusive residences furnished with the highest quality materials and the renowned Bulgari contemporary design. The hotel features a private cinema, ballroom and 25 metre indoor swimming pool and has been created to provide the epitome of luxury to its residents.
The FDA solution installed in the hotel consists of four fire panels, approximately 1,500 heads and the WINMAG software tool which integrates seamlessly with the Vigilon software to offer a graphical view of the entire system, enabling easy location of a fire in an emergency and rapid decision making through event-based control of devices.
The S-Quad sensors that were used to equip the hotel are part of Gent’s range of multi-sensors that combine the most advanced sensing technologies to provide quick, intelligent fire decisions. The extra sensory detection is coupled with an integral sounder with speech capability and strobe in the same intelligent device, making S-Quad a truly unique fire detection and alarm sensor.
Dan Ascough, Area Sales Manager, Gent by Honeywell adds: “The property is the first of its kind to be built in London for decades and we are thrilled that the developers selected one of our fire detection and alarm systems. Any guests staying at the hotel can expect the ultimate in luxury provided by the prestigious Bulgari brand and the most reliable protection from one of our leading solutions.”
