JBL Professional introduces MTC-CBT-70T bolt-on transformer module

At ISE 2013, HARMAN’s JBL Professional is introducing its MTC-CBT-70T bolt-on transformer module for its CBT 70J-1 Constant Beamwidth Technology™ line array column speaker and CBT 70JE-1 low-frequency extension module. The MTC-CBT-70T enables the use of these speakers in distributed audio systems and allows for long cable runs and multiple speakers to be driven from a single distributed system amplifier channel.

The JBL MTC-CBT-70T facilitates the use of the CBT 70J-1 or CBT 70J-1/CBT 70JE- 1 system in 70-volt or 100-volt distributed audio systems. The unit bolts onto the back of the speakers using two supplied M6 bolts, into the insert points that are already on the back of the cabinets. The MTC-CBT-70T is made of fiberglass-filled ABS and is available in black or white to match the appearance of the speaker on which it’s installed.

The MTC-CBT-70T includes 120W, 60W and 30W transformer taps for 70V and 100V distributed lines, plus 15W taps for 70V only. Cable connections are made via screw-down terminals on a terminal strip inside the unit’s enclosure, and gland nuts are provided that form a water-tight seal when used with round jacketed speaker cable. The MTC-CBT-70T is IP-55 rated per IEC529 and is UV, moisture and salt-spray resistant.
