| The COHEDRA systems are easy to use and versatile enough to render diverse musical styles |
It was late summer of 2013 when the Ministry of Culture in Mogilev, Belarus, decided to buy new sound systems for two of its state-run cultural institutions.
The Mogilev Palace of Culture and the Philharmonic were both to be receive new sound systems. The latter needed a mobile rig to cover both large indoor and outdoor events.
Tasked to install systems that would meet these needs, the Belarusian HK Audio distributor IMTH opted to roll out HK Audio COHEDRA series rigs.
The customer's specifications were clear. The two systems would have to be easy to use and versatile enough to render diverse musical styles and handle all types of signals. And the mobile system had to be readily reconfigurable for use in different venues and ergonomically designed for fast setup and disassembly with minimum staff.
"HK Audio COHEDRA systems are way ahead of the competition from the USA, England and Italy when it comes to these parameters, so COHEDRA was straightaway our first choice," says IMTH's management.
Unfortunately, there wasn't a single COHEDRA rig to be had for demonstration purposes anywhere in the territory of the former Soviet Union. The sound techs of MuzProject, IMTH's install sound division, were not to be deterred. They simulated the COHEDRA system's audio performance in various venues and configurations using the EASE Focus computer program. Then they did the same for rival systems so the customer could compare COHEDRA with competing PAs.
"The calculations clearly favored the COHEDRA system," says MuzProject's sound tech. "What's more, when the system was tested after installation it delivered exactly the results we had predicted with the simulation. The customer was also most impressed with HK Audio's excellent reputation and the premium-quality customer service provided our HK Audio specialists."
